All About Trees is committed to making Southern Vermont a better place to live, work, and play.  As a member of the Brattleboro tree advisory board, Bob has helped plant trees in town and encouraged sound decision making regarding our street trees.  Bob is a volunteer with the Vermont Forest Pest First Detectors, and helped raise awareness of the threats of invasive insects and conducted tree surveys for pests and vulnerable trees.  Bob wrote a piece in the Brattleboro Reformer to help educate the town about the threat posed by Emerald Ash Borer, and rollerbladed in the Strolling of the Heifers parade dressed as an EAB with a sign that said, “Don’t Move Firewood.”  He’s done outreach and education at the Deerfield Valley Farmer’s Day, and helped hang purple EAB monitoring traps in Harmony Lot in Brattleboro.  More recently, Bob has helped write an EAB preparedness plan for the town of Brattleboro, and presented his work to the Selectboard.  You can look at the report by clicking here, or watch his presentation on the BCTV archives, starting at 71:00
